Chanel Cruise Collection Details Hints at Regal Theme
From L . a . to Venice, Karl Lagerfeld is famed for choosing glamorous locations for his annual Croisière presentations, which season looks set being no different with all the designer reportedly going to the Château de Versailles near Paris.
Details regarding the star-studded event continue to be top secret, although fashion writer Jim Shi divulged the event’s location and date on Twitter April 12.
“#Chanel confirms #KarlLagerfeld to stage upcoming cruise collection show within the garden from the Chateau de Versailles around the night of May 14!” tweeted Shi.
Although a bit closer to home now, the creator’s regal selection of setting invokes images with the chateau’s most famous resident Marie-Antoinette together with her grandiose wigs and corseted gowns.
Combined with likes of Dior and Gucci, the Chanel Resort collection is probably the fashion world’s most anticipated, with last year’s show in the Hotel du Cap in Antibes around the French Riviera welcoming stars including Vanessa Paradis, Blake Lively, and Rachel Bilson to find out Lagerfeld’s nautical-influenced creations.
